Project Management Training, which covered administrative and management aspects of projects has been held on December 9-11, 2009 in Dushanbe as part of implementation of 4th grant round of CAAP project’s Regional AIDS Fund. This training has gathered 26 representatives of NGOs and government organizations (coordinators and financial specialists), whose grant applications have been approved by results of CAAP project’s 4th grant round. Taking into account the experience gained while working in the project, staff of CAAP project from regional office and national office in Tajikistan were trainers themselves.
The program of the training was designed in line with international techniques applied for carrying out trainings. The range of subjects, which were included to the program of training, has covered following themes: projects management cycle, problems identification methods, reaching planned indicators, budget management and procurement process, reporting forms, monitoring and evaluation, and also, use of client database system MIS (Management Information System). Moreover, in the course of the training, participants were able to get consultations and receive information needed by each one of them in his / her specific situation.
The program of the training consisted of different parts including provision of information, exercises, development of practical skills and discussions. Such approach allowed to modify the process of training from regular passive listening into active involvement of each participant. Participants simulated and played through various situations, analyzed them and drew conclusions. Each participant had an opportunity to share experience, express opinion and apply skills in practical exercises.
